geeks+ started life in 2020 as a Live video podcast streamed on Twitch called Comics and the Cross.
Originally founded by Cross and Nitro as a way to talk about their love of comics and find other geeks while sharing the love of Jesus.

Over the next 5 years Comics and the Cross grew and expanded it's scope to include Video Games, Tabletop Gaming and a massive love for TTRPGs and Dungeons and Dragons.

This growth was achieved thanks to the friends that had been made while streaming on Twitch as 2 of those friends, Spacehawk (formerly of Mountain Nerds Podcast) and LJthePaladin (former member of Geeks Under Grace) officially joined the team.

With a growing team and an expansion into more than just comic books, it was decided that the name Comics and the Cross didn't incorporate everything we were doing and that we had outgrown the original moniker.

In February 2025 Comics and the Cross was no more and in it's place stood geeks+, with a new name partially inspired by the hero All Might's Catchphrase of "Plus Ultra" meaning to go beyond your limits and we felt this encapsulated what we wanted geeks+ to become.

Together, we strive to create a loving and accepting community for people that welcomes everyone in, gives you a safe place to be unashamedly yourself and see you become more than just your average geek.
